The old market town of Ledbury is four miles away and in the other direction is Tewkesbury with its medieval buildings and alleyways.
Above is Tewkesbury Abbey which was founded in1087 by nobleman Robert Fitz Hamon. Building of the present Abbey did not start until 1102. Built to house Benedictine monks, the Norman Abbey was near completion when consecrated in 1121.

Lebury contains many old-fashioned houses. Black and white buildings line the wide main street giving it great atmosphere, yet the town is very much in touch with the present.
The magnificent Feathers Hotel was famous as a coaching inn when Ledbury was a stopping point for the Royal Mail en route from Cheltenham to Aberystwyth. |
